Defending player Benjamin Mendy for Manchester City has entered a not guilty plea to the rape charges against him.
On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, the football player showed up at the Chester Crown for his trial. Mendy has always asserted her innocence in relation to the seven charges of rape and one charge of attempted rape.
Mendy is accused of the crimes against seven young ladies between October 2018 and August of the previous year ( 2021). He will testify in court alongside 40-year-old co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie.
In addition, Matturie refuted four allegations of sexual assault and eight counts of rape involving eight young women. The alleged offenses occurred between July 2012 and August of last year. Since 2017, when he transferred from Monaco to Manchester City for a rumored £52 million, Mendy has been a member of the team.
