Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal Football Club, has offered an explanation for why he thinks his squad fell short against the Red Devils.
On Sunday, September 4, 2022, the Spaniard was speaking following the match versus Manchester United at Old Trafford. Arteta claimed that his squad was close to winning the game and extending their winning streak in the Premier League.
Only Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Liverpool had won their first six Premier League games, therefore Arsenal entered the match with the goal of doing the same. With 15 points, the Gunners are still in first place in the Premier League.
🗣 “The game was there for the taking.”
