Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer Tems has broken and set a new record on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Tems achieved a new milestone for Nigerian music on the Billboard Hot 100 chart today, Monday, May 9, 2022.
Tems is the first and only female Nigerian musician to ever top the Billboard Hot 100 list, thanks to her appearance alongside Drake on Future’s song “Wait For U.”
This isn’t the first time the Grammy-nominated singer has appeared on the Hot 100 chart; her duet with Wizkid on ‘Essence’ with Justin Bieber reached number 9, and her collaboration with Drake on ‘Fountains’ reached number 26.
