The American Music Awards 2022, probably one of the biggest worldwide award shows, have announced its official list of winners (AMAs).
The American Music Awards 2022, or “AMAs,” is undoubtedly one of the most prominent award ceremonies that have been at the forefront of honoring talented musicians who have made enormous contributions to the music industry globally, and this is precisely what they did as they announced all winners across various categories starting on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
The award scheme honored the Afrobeat genre by including a category list as well as the genre’s eligibility to be in categories where it damn well pleases.
Wizkid won the category of “FAVORITE AFROBEATS ARTISTE,” which was fiercely contested by leading figures in the Afrobeat scene. Tems, Burna Boy, CKay, Fireboy DML, and Burna Boy all competed in this division.
With the song “Essence,” which features outstanding Nigerian vocalist Tems, Wizkid also took home the award for favorite R&B song.
