The American Music Awards 2022, probably one of the biggest worldwide award shows, have announced its official list of winners (AMAs).
The American Music Awards 2022, or “AMAs,” is undoubtedly one of the most prominent award ceremonies that have been at the forefront of honoring talented musicians who have made enormous contributions to the music industry globally, and this is precisely what they did as they announced all winners across various categories starting on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
One of the night’s major highlights was the announcement of ‘Essence,’ an Afrobeat song by Nigerian Afrobeat musician Wizkid featuring Tems, as the Favorite R&B song. The song won a category that featured stiff competition from superstars like Beyonce, Muni Long, Silk Sonic, and SZA.
This clearly shows Afrobeats’ current domination around the world and how people are becoming attracted to it.
Additionally, Wizkid won a second award for Favorite Afrobeat Artist over Tems, Burna Boy, Ckay, and Fireboy DML.
