Aisha Huang, the galamsey tycoon deported in 2019, has returned to Ghana and has been re-arrested for illegal mining. Two charges have been brought against her: engaging in the sale and acquisition of minerals without a license, and unlicensed mining. Together with Johng Li Hua, Huang Jei, and Huaid Hai Hun, she was detained.
Last Friday, Aisha Huang and her associates appeared in an Accra Circuit Court.
According to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the court upheld Aisha’s plea because there was no Chinese interpreter present.
According to GNA, Detective Chief Inspector Frederick Sarpong pleaded in court for the accused to be remanded while investigations continue.
After that, Aisha Huang and her henchmen were placed on detention. They are scheduled to appear in court again on September 14, 2022.
It is believed Aisha entered Ghana from a neighboring nation over a land border, and she sneaks out if she learns of her detention.
