As part of their preparations for the 2022 World Cup, the four-time AFCON champions Ghana will compete in a four-nation competition in Japan.
The Black Stars’ coach, Otto Addo, has chosen a 33-man roster for the AFCON Qualifiers, with some indigenous players earning call-ups. Players that compete in local leagues, such as the Ghana Premier League, have often been overlooked when it comes to senior national team selection. With Austine Okrah and Afriyie Barnieh of Bechem United and Hearts Of Oak, respectively, gaining call-ups, this is a step in the right direction.
AUGUSTINE OKRAH

Coach Otto Addo has given Augustine Okrah of Bechem United his first call-up for the upcoming games.
AFRIYIE BARNIEH
Afriyie Barnieh plays as a forward striker for Hearts of Oak. For the Phobians, he has 10 goals and 7 assists in all competitions so far.
