Morocco could not help but sing Burna Boy’s “Last Last” during a live session after their World Cup 2022 triumph against Spain.
Though it may sound overly dramatic to say that the Afrobeats sound has spread throughout the world, certain scenes show just how far the distinctive Nigerian sound has come. Afrobeats has come a long way, as evidenced by the FIFA World Cup’s use of Rema’s “Calm Down” and national teams singing hit songs live or during practice sessions.
In their post-victory celebration against Spain in the competition’s round of 16, Morocco caught the Afrobeats craze. This led to their qualification for the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Some of the national team’s players participated in an Instagram live performance while belting out Burna Boy’s classic smash song “Last Last.”
