On September 22, 2022, the official website of Manchester United FC posted a financial report.
Manchester United spent £384.2 million last season, and the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo contributed to some of the club’s high spending, according to a statement made by the organization.
The rise in pay vaulted the Red Devils beyond Manchester City, whose salary bill of £354.6 million was also paid at the conclusion of the previous campaign.
Last season, the club’s three biggest additions were Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho.
The Old Trafford team registered an operating loss of £87.4 million for the year ending June 30 and a net loss for the season of £115.5 million.
However, the club’s excessive pay structure was mostly to blame for the losses.
